Response: I don't hate disney

In response to my last journal, people have been getting pissy and protective, and I get that. I just want to say that I've always loved disney: I grew up with it, it's inspired my art and I think that all of their movies have many good points to bring. However, part of growing up consists of seeing the flaws in the stuff you love. You've got to try to shake free of the blindfold of nostalgia and be willing to see that even your most beloved franchises engage in some pretty shitty stuff. All I want is to help mold a more diverse, accepting world for me and eventually my children to live in, and what better place to start than animation?
